About
Hi I'm Zara your tutor!
I have been teaching watercolours since 2023 and it is my passion! My classes are aimed at total beginners, my mission is to show people they can learn art in a fun and relaxing way without pressure of being 'good' or making a 'masterpiece'.
I have been teaching about 4-5 times a week for the last few years and have a growing & beautiful community of people who are learning art, having fun and doing something kind for themselves every week.
My classes are often related to the seasons & aim to connect students (and myself) to the nature that surrounds us. I love to include themes in my classes that relate to local / British wildlife.
If you have any questions about coming to my classes or anything else, feel free to message or email me!

FAQs
I haven't done art since school. Is that ok?
Yes! My favourite students are ones who haven't done any art since school. I love to teach people completely from scratch and break it down to the absolute basics.
"I love Zara's water colour classes. They are very well run and thought through. Having been advised not to do art at school decades ago, I now feel I am learning from scratch and have even bought my own kit to practise at home!"

Are kids allowed?
Children are very welcome at the weekly 1.5 hr classes.
Children 6 and under must work alongside an adult - eg 1 ticket between two - working on the same page & with the same materials.
Above 7 they can work on their own paper with an adult assisting them (to make sure they take care of the equiptment while using it & understand to what's going on).
Above 10 they can work on their own without an adult helping out. Above 10 the child can say in the class on their own as long as the adult stays near by in the cafe for the duration of the class.
Please email me about the other longer classes as they may be a little too intense - it can depend on the individual however!
I have a disability / impairment
If you have a physical, learning or mental disability or impairment that you think may affect whether you can take part, feel free to email, call, or message me with any questions.
At my classes there are many people who come that may need to see things close up, explained slower or in a specific way (eg dyslexia), or they may need a specific seat (eg if you are in a mobility scooter).
If you are affected by any mental health conditions or have overwhelming struggles in your life currently, I'm also very happy to make accomodations - examples might be that you need to take regular breaks, that you would prefer not to have individual feedback, would rather get on with your own thing than follow the class theme, or that you need to wear headphones.
Feel free to come a bit early and chat, or contact me before :-)
